NOT..............A.............FAN of this news.

But hey, if this proves to be what the future has in store for the Bruins, then lets hire Pierre McGuire as Assistant GM while we are at it.

With Milbury and McGuire off the NBCSN games, we should get a huge thank you from the hockey world, as we spiral into a decade of depressing hockey.

I know I don't have a great pulse on the Bruins team, but as an outsider looking in, I highly doubt Claude Julien is the issue here. Maybe it's the players? or the former GM trading away the wrong ones???

Julien makes questionable decisions at times. But he is far from the biggest problem.

Every time this team gets a legitimate scoring threat, they trade them away. Then they complain they dont have any finishers.

Milbury is only worth having as coach if he has personnel control. He's earned that with his track record in the past.

I am an Islander fan and have much respect for the game of hockey.

As such I would just like to say that Mike Milbury should not even be a color commentator for TV let alone being mentioned for any front office position.

To be blunt — if he comes within whisper's distance of being allowed to wash the jock straps of the Boston Bruins players — your franchise will descend into a nightmare.

Want proof? Reference the New York Islanders, 1995 to 2005.

It took Garth Snow (who has made mistakes) nearly 7 years of building to undo the 11 years of Mike Milbury's abject destruction of a sports franchise.

That beloved Bruins captain of yours... ask him about Mike Milbury. He knows. He was traded by Milbury.

For the LOVE OF THE GAME — keep Mike Milbury OUT!

Never interfere with your enemies self-inflicted destruction. It's better to encourage it. Milbury has an exponential destructive nature on franchises so even one year of him will leave a lasting impression.

Normally I would agree (part of me does) but he set the Islanders back 10+ years with his trades and drafting and management of players. The NHL has its share of issues. Milbury is one of them. honestly who doesn't turn the channel any time he comes on.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Captain was traded by Sinden and the team was being coached by Burns that season.

Please let it be Mike Milbury; I hate listening to that guy on NBC Sports. Also, de facto failure in his body of work that would hold Boston back from what they could probably accomplish with a better coach.

If this is how Sweeney starts his Bruins tenure I will vomit.

Bruins have a feel of an "Old Boys Club" coming... That has to work, look at Edmonton.... Oh, wait.... Never mind

I frankly hope that the Bruins do fire Julien and hire Mike Milbury. Just think of the wonderful press conferences when they Bruins get whipped and he's stammering about how they tried and someone asks one of those pointed questions that he claims everyone should be asking but no one does and if he was in the press conference he would ask....yeah...that will be great.

Basically, if they do fire Julien and then hire Milbury, they get what they deserve. The front office will have shown their hands as clowns and will be reaping what they sow.

I don't think they WILL do this...but I do knda hope that they do...

Milbury coaching is pure conjecture. This is classic Boston media doomspeak. Everyone calm down.

If Claude get's the axe then Cassidy or Houda will be the next guy. Apparently both Julien and Cassidy run similar systems so don't expect the Bruins to suddenly turn into the 97 Red Wings.

EDIT: Dear Arizona please fire Dave Tippet.

Hiring Milbury would be the worst move for any franchise

its down right disrespect to the players if he is the coach
